Earth Hour 2024 – play your part

Accommodation, Carpool and Library Services (ACLS) (formerly the Shared Service Provider (SSP)), together with its accommodation service delivery partner Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL), actively support Earth Hour and are once again working with the building owners across Victoria to ensure these building’s non-essential lighting, equipment, and advertising signage are switched off during the hour. Safety lighting and security systems will remain on as normal.

We encourage everyone to get involved

If you are in the office, before leaving work on Friday 22 March, please remember to:

  • Switch off your PC and monitor.
  • Switch off lights in meeting rooms.
  • Pull down blinds and close curtains.
  • Switch off all non-essential electrical items.

What you can do at home

On the night of Earth Hour, Saturday 23 March, switch off your lighting from 8.30 pm for one hour. From 1 March until Earth Hour on 23 March, you are also invited to challenge yourself to walk, run, cycle or swim for 60 minutes a day and get active in nature to power-up your commitment to a sustainable future for the Earth.

Want to help the planet?

Earth Hour is much more than turning off our lights once a year. It is a symbol of the commitment to take collective action to prevent climate change. Every small action, when combined with millions of others, has a huge impact. Make the time - whether it’s 60 seconds, 60 minutes or beyond the hour to create a better future for people and planet.
